The Yankees and Rangers kick off the first of three tonight at 7:10pm. In case you missed it, here’s TYA’s series preview.

Here’s the Yankee lineup:

SS
RF
1B
3B
2B
LF
DH
C
CF

gets a night off against the lefty . With the way Brett hasn’t been swinging the bat, I don’t think anyone’s going to complain about this move.

Additionally, at the time I wrote this post (a little before 6pm) Twitter was bounding with rumors that is taking ‘ rotation spot, but I didn’t see confirmation from any of the beat writers, so don’t know if that’s official yet.

The only time I hate living in Texas is when the Rangers play the Yankees… I get forced to watch the Rangers broadcast team over the YES network and their homerism is almost unbearable.

The Yankees should give Nova one more start and if he isn’t good in it, he should be sent back to the minors. He is awful. Since when is he a fourth starter over Garcia? When will Millwood or Silva be ready for a callup?

T.O. Chris – MLB Radio costs only $14.95/yr. All MLB games and broadcasts, so you can mute the opposing teams’ gamecallers in favor of the Yankees’ radio gamecallers. ‘Thing is you have to set up the sound near your tv as the radio broadcast comes from your computer.

The Yankees should’ve never given Jeter a player option for a fourth year let alone three years.

A year and $15M take it or leave it and collect your 3,000th hit with someone else. He would’ve never signed elsewhere and if he did, so be it. Sign Edgar Renteria for SS and the #9 slot, start Nunez there, or have both share the job. You’d at least have an upgrade in defense and a ton of salary cleared.

Again, if Jeter finishes 2011 with under .280 BA and.350 OBP, he should retire thus forfeit the last two years of his contract and avoid sucking for a third straight year because he’d be officially done. If he had any integrity whatsoever, he’d retire if he posted those horrid numbers which they are for a guy who is a career .314 BA and .384 OBP hitter who prides himself on peforming the best he can perform.

That was a nice way to start the series. I know Harrison looks like smoke and mirrors now, but he has really seemed to have found his confidence. I hope he is really this good.

I am not used to being confident when Jeter comes to the plate. He just looks like a shell of the player he was in the late 90s. That is a shame as he seems like a classy guy.

It should be a fun and interesting series. I can’t wait to see what Ogando will do Sunday.
