I don’t know about the first week but back in the late 70′s I remember Nettles hit something like 14 April homers. I’d guess him.

The answer is Alex, who hit five HRs in the first six games of the 2007 season.
I’d also like to point out — once again — that your list of “every Yankee manager since George Steinbrenner bought the team in 1973″ is missing five names. (See original post and my response linked below.)

The list of names provided above as the correct answer is incomplete because it is an answer to a different question; specifically: “How many managers did Steinbrenner hire?” A list of every Yankee manager since George bought the team is an entirely different question with a different answer.

I thought the record for April homers was Tino (but maybe that was RBIs) although I dont remember how many he had that first week. He had one great season (1997 i think) where he was going toe to toe with Griffey and McGuire into late August.

no I thought A-Rod was tied with Pujols for most April HRs with 17… Didn’t google this, is 17 right?
