For the second game in a row the Yankees were able to tag an elite American League lefthanded starter to jump out to an early lead, only to see their starter give it right back. The Yankees delightfully hung five runs on , the majority of which came on yet another home run (his 14th) by , who now leads the Majors in home runs off southpaws.

But , who only gave up one run through the first five and looked well on his way to cruising to another strong start, completely collapsed in the sixth, giving up home runs to and to relinquish the lead as .

The Yankee offense outside of Granderson and was nonexistent yet again, with and an even-more-lost-than-previously-thought-possible taking 0-4s. A-Rod in particular was brutal, striking out three times.

Not much else to say about this one. The offense scored five runs for a second straight game and still couldn’t win. The Yankees of late either don’t hit and pitch well, or hit and pitch terribly. Either way it’s a pretty good recipe for the team’s longest losing streak in four years.

Fortunately they can’t lose forever. So many members of the offense are scuffling at the same time; I’d hate to be the opposition when the switch finally does go off and the Yankees remember how to hit again.
