It’s the 4th of July, and I wasn’t in a position to watch this game, so the recap will be possibly the shortest I’ve ever written. The Yankees took a 2-1 lead into the bottom of the ninth inning yesterday. Usually, that’s a recipe for a victory, but a team on a seven game win streak is due to lose, and even is human sometimes. Mo gave up the tying run in the bottom of the ninth, and the Mets won it when drove in the winning run in the 10th.

I refuse to get upset after a loss like this one, no matter how frustrating it may be. Rivera wins the Yankees far, far more games than he loses and the team sees its lead on first place drop only one game. Apart from losing a strong seven inning performance from Freddy Garcia, little else bad came from the loss.

The Yankees look t get back to their winning ways this evening in Cleveland. ESPN is reporting a 6:35pm start time. A.J. Burnett toes the rubber for the Bombers. The Indians counter with .
