Phil hung a curve with no bite. Can’t do that to Miggy.
I’m not loving his new cutter, either. Breaks too soon, WAY too much lateral movement as opposed to sink. He threw it twice to righties, I’d save it lefties until he refines it.

Lets trade PhiLOL for like, all of PhiLOLdelphia

My man, Jorge!

See, this is why Jeter’s a total bum. If he had gotten on in front of Teixeira’s HR, then Cano’s HR would have tied the game.
(I’m joking, in case anyone cares.)

Hughes has no velocity and as Steve pointed out to me in an email, the curve isn’t there at all either. Not gonna sneak anything by Miguel Cabrera without your breaking stuff and a diminished fastball.

I just don’t understand modern managing. Why let Colon give away the game? The Yankees are supposed to have a great bullpen. Why do this??

Colon’s stuff actually looks pretty good, a few mistakes left up. I’d ride him, they have a nice stretch of games coming now.

I don’t buy it. His stuff was on and off, and the “off” guys were ripping him. In a game you’re trying to win, he doesn’t come out for a second inning, whatever stretch of games is coming up.

Disagree. After those first two hitters, he was very good. Those hitters count, obviously, but I didn’t see anything after those two hitters that had me looking to the bullpen.

After those first two hitters, he was very good for the rest of the inning. But in a game you’re trying to win, two bad, three good isn’t good enough. You’ve got options that are less of a gamble. You can use Colon some other time to see if he’s reliable day in and day out.

Yeah plus anything you get out of Colon is like finding free money on the street. Just spend it on crack, why save it?
[Reply]
I wasn’t being sarcastic by the way. Anything we get out of Colon at all is all a bonus.

What if all we get is a bunch of blown opportunities? That doesn’t buy a lot of crack.
