Nova Struggles Again, Jays Blank Yanks
The best pitcher in the world, according to his own words, , had another stellar outing tonight. Oh, did I say stellar? I actually meant another “s” word that I probably shouldn’t post on this blog so I’ll be nice (replace the “m” in smitty and you have that word).
Nova allowed four runs on six hits through 4.2 innings.
And with the way was pitching for the Blue Jays, one run would have been enough. But Toronto’s offense had different ideas. hit a two-run homer and hit a two-run double off Nova to give the Jays a more than comfortable cushion.
The Yankees had just five hits and those five hits came off the bat of either or .
It wasn’t pretty. Actually, it was that “s” word I can’t type.
Both and — who made his long-awaited Yankees debut — allowed a run each in relief.
So the Yankees failed to gain ground and once again hold a tenuous one-game lead over the idle Baltimore Orioles in the AL East standings.

Just to mention that the 2…2 run extra base hits were to the opposite field. To the baseball world, that is called “good hitting”. In the NY Yankee clubhouse, hitting to the opposite field is for pussies and should be viewed as unacceptable behavior. Swisher tweeted me and told me he would write a word in his eye-black that would describe the type of hitter that would use all fields, especially the opposite field, and Nick said he hopes he won’t get suspended as he has many friends who are pussies. The guy that does his hair is a pussy…and one of his neighbors kids is a pussy. So, just sayin.
