- Mike Axisa released his 2012 Minor League Awards today. Tyler Austin took home Player of the Year, while Nik Turley took Pitcher of the Year. There are a slew of other awards given out, but I’d just like to point out that I liked him before it was cool.
- Baseball America held their own Minor League honors today, and built their 2012 MiLB All-Star Team. Gary Sanchez made the team as the starting catcher, although there was no Tyler Austin to speak of.
- Finally, with all the talk about RISP-fail and shutdown innings with this team, I thought Bryan Grosnick’s work at Beyond The Boxscore would be much appreciated. Believe it or not, not a single Yankee hitter made the unclutch list, although they did place one pitcher. ranked as the 6th most unclutch pitchers in 2012.
There’s some Monday Night Football to look forward to tonight as the Broncos take on the Falcons. Also, you can catch the Rays and Red Sox game at 7:10 pm on the MLB Network. Also, if you get MASN or MLB.tv, the Orioles play at 10:10 against the Mariners.
