One Response to Yankees Swept By White Sox, Lose 2-1

It may not show in the standings yet (but soon will), but after tonight’s Tampa win, the Yankees will have completely blown their 10-game lead and become the greatest regular season Yankee chokers of all time. With 9 games left vs. Tampa, and the Yankees guaranteed to lose at least 6, they are actually now tied with Tampa. Tonight they fall 1/2 game behind, officially coughing up the largest regular season margin by far (previous was “only” 6.5 games) of any Yankee team. They join the 2004 Pennant chokers as setting disgraceful records within the past 10 years that no Yankee team did during their first 100 years. Hopefully, we get a new manager next year. And it looks like Mother Nature will do what the Yankees should have done – shut down Nova.
