Game 130: Win The Series
Series against AL East teams down the stretch have become way more important than they should be. Even with Andruw Jones batting cleanup, whenever we have Sabathia on the mound against Happ, I like the odds.

Most poker sites open to US players also provide online casinos accepting USA players. A good example of this is BetOnline.com, where you can play 3D casino games, bet on sports or play poker from anywhere in the United States.

Shouldn’t joked about Andruw. Huge hit.
Two runs in an inning! I’m psyched.
I was doing some yard work & lost track of the time. What a nice surprised to see the Yanks scored two runs in 1st….no HRs!
No real solid hits–couple ground balls through the infield and a walk–but it worked.
itsy bitsy hits were sprayed across the field
in comes the runners walking ‘cross home plate
(sung to Itsy Bitsy Spider)
Could be a hit.
The Red Sox play their last 15 games of the season against the Yankees, the O’s, and the Rays. If they go 0-12 against the Os and Rays, it could be trouble.
This inning not looking good. Come on, CC, blow it past ‘em.
That was a NICE double play.
Nice DP. Base loaded no ours to 1st & 2nd, 2 outs.
Damn, CC’s not looking good at all.
But CC gives up two runs anyway. He’s not looking great.
Jeez, how come other teams get two out hits with runners in scoring position?
Finally. The cannot afford to lose this game. Yankees should have won at least 2 of these games if not all three.
CC has to shut down the BJ’s the rest of the way. This is not a lineup that you can count on to score 5+ runs.
Yeah, I’m worried.
I’m going to the game on Saturday. I think Garcia will be pitching, unfortunately.
Two out, second and third. Is a hit too much to ask for?
Hey Curtis, a 2 out hit would be good.
YEEEEEES!!!!
OK, I’ll take a misplayed fly ball!
Davis was so freaked out by Granderson going the other way that he forgot to chase the ball.
Played too shallow as well.
A two-out RBI hit followed by a shut-down inning. Good times!
Maybe you’ll get to see some of the call ups play on Saturday.
Gotta line the Yankee line score, 4 3 2
Rally, rally!
Now I’m getting greedy. I want a big inning.
Walk Jeter to face Swisher with the bases loaded? Hmm…..
They’re walking Jeter to face Swish? Wow! Make them pay Nicky!
All right, Swisher, no need to jump out of your shoes trying to kill the ball. All we need is a hit.
(Last time I said that, he hit a slam.)
Was worth a try. And he did jump on that first pitch.
Man, how many bases-loaded no-out situations have they completely wasted this year?
Pathetic! 2nd & 3rd, no outs. Bases loaded, 1 out. No runs!
This team could be in real trouble.
Yankees should win the 3rd game vs Balt because their starting pitcher has no eyes.
Looks like CC and any relievers are going to have to make those 4 runs stand up. By the way, are Robertson or Sori available today?
Don’t know. Probably not.
I thought Jones had that.
The umps called that a hit????
Ridiculous. He had it.
Damn, CC!
Damn! That two leads CC has given up! Prolly the game now.
The Yanks have some hope. BJ’s are scoring every 3rd inning and the Yanks in odd numbered innings, except the fifth.
I am really worried about the rest of CC’s contract. Anyone who doesn’t think that last year & this year show that he started his decline is crazy. It’s a steep decline, but it is a decline.
Meant to type: It isn’t a steep decline, but it is a decline.
I suppose if he winds up as a No. 2, that’s acceptable.
The Yankees have only been good this year for about 6 weeks. The rest of the season has been medicore.
I’m hoping that they can hang tight under mid-Sept. Then get hot & stay hot throughout the playoffs.
Another wasted opportunity.
Great clutch hitting that inning after a lead off double.
Nice catch by Itchy.
I’m here. I’m just dumbfounded.
Yeah, shell shocked.
And the clutch hitting goes on and on and on! I guess it was too much to ask Granderson to get two 2-out hits in one game.
You were right. They’re not going to score 5 runs.
I don’t want to be.
Hitting, pitching, fielding. Like watching a minor league team.
Back from my 1st day of college.. come on Yankees..
My nephew is starting college this week, too.
Well it’s the 1st day of my 3rd year in college, but yeah :P
Congratulations! I hope you had a better day than the Yankees are having,
but it’s all about how it comes out in the end, not to jinx young Galaxy.
I am not a jinx. (Said in my Richard Nixon voice.)
good, Tricky, let’s hope no one is.
Call to the bullpen sponsored by Girardi’s binder. Will the binder win us or cost us the game. Stay tuned on the YES Network!
2 innings to get 3 runs, can you do it, Yankees?
If they can get some hits w/RISP.
Another chance to waste a leadoff double.
This one will score!
Really?
Martin will score as well.
REALLY???
Well, 1 for 2 isn’t bad.
YOU LIED TO ME!
Another double. Oh, my, can they learn from prior struggles?
Martin hit it sharply and the gods rewarded him.
OK, now they have the tying run on second with no one out. They can waste that.
The evil Erasmus interferes.
Erasmus B. Dragon
not that time, dammit.
Hoped Splendid Chavez would shine
But Brendan Lyon slid a good one by.
Derek slipped the slider foul
Ah, but for naught more.
You seem in a poetic mood.
jes’ practicing.
smurfy is poetic
But the Yankees are pathetic
And I need an anesthetic.
this game stirred the bartender’s business, for sure.
Why can’t anyone admit that Ichiro is a rotten hitter now?
3 for 17 RISP, can’t say the Yanks didn’t have chances to win this one.
Can I say that they stink?
Sure, go ahead.
Ah, the heck with it.
Michael Kay just said that the Yankees are the only team in the majors this year not to win a game when trailing after 8 innings.
The gods giveth and they taketh back.
Eppley threw some nasty pitches, and the shadows made them really disappear. But they jumped on the next fb they saw. He needs to keep wiggling.
Did Kay say the Yankees are the only team in the MLB to not win a game, trailing after 8 innings??
Yes. They are 0-46.
Ho- ho- holy smorgasbord! Joba’s coming in.
In for a bean, in for a bushel.
Girardi got himself into trouble changing pitchers. Now he has no one else.
there’s the bushel, filling up.
ohhhh! Missed it by a partial bean.
Run would have scored anyway. The game was over before Joba took the mound.
Kay is worried about who would pitch in extra innings. They’re not going to extra innings.
*HEADDESK*
I can’t take it anymore. I’m otta here. Chat y’all Friday.
Smart man.
Joba’s starting to Do it.
He didn’t belong in that situation. Girardi used his long man for ONE HITTER.
Edit: Two hitters, and he didn’t get either of them out. But why use Lowe in the middle of a rally? He’s the long man.
He’s versatile, though one wonders, and hopes. Joe didn’t use his pitchers in a conventional way. In the case of Joba, it was not the way he himself predicted. Probably, he found himself, indeed, in a pickle. But I, for one hoped that Joba could respond positively to the crucible. Especially since the cause was lost, as you say.
and Joba threw some very nice pitches, slider on the corner and a bunch of fballs that blew by them. Need to get him into more games, asap.
Popup, k, popup?
