Most poker sites open to US players also provide online casinos accepting USA players. A good example of this is BetOnline.com, where you can play 3D casino games, bet on sports or play poker from anywhere in the United States.

Is it a marathon season? Or a sprint within the marathon?
Consider: 1984 Tigers get off to a 35-5 start. Season over if they only play .500 ball after that.
Consider: Last year’s finishes by StL & TB
Consider: Yankees’ current run, 56-34. If they played .500 ball the rest of the way (coupled with their 21-21 start) they’d have 92 wins and would probably win the division or at least almost certainly be in the playoffs.
The current Yankee run should read 35-13, after the 21-21 start.
Well, the average of 35-13 (.729) and 21-21 (.500) is .615. I’ll take that the rest of the way.
What’s the over/under on Yankee wins this season at this point?
I’m thinking 95, they have a ton of games left within the division, only played 30 out of 72 so far.
If the Red Sox find themselves, they will be tough, but with the Blue Jays decimated and the Os and Rays coming back to down to their true levels, the division may not be as tough as it could be.
If the Yanks played only .500 ball the rest of the way, Boston would have to play .648 ball.
Rob Neyer says Boston will pretty much move into that second wild card spot pretty quickly from here on.
What scares me the most is having to start the Division Series with 2 games in Anaheim or Fenway.
That’s so 2004-2008. Right now, I’d take 3 games against anyone anywhere.
Of course, by October it could be a lot different.
Are you watching YES? They threw the channel over to Mike Francesa, and he’s pitching a fit about the Mets.
I was turned into that, having no clue who he is and since he sounded like he was just ranting, I turned back to “Through the Wormwhole.”
He should, the Mets’ bullpen is trash.
Black Holes are more intriguing, but that may be an apt description of the Mets’ pen as well.
A met fan called WFAn to put RA Dickey in the bullpen, lol!
I want the drugs he’s been taking!
Yankees on rain delay, and YES goes to the Mike Francesa show where he’s right now going hard on the Mets.
He’s a putz, but he’s probably right this time. The Mets know what the problem is, and middle relief is not expensive. They should take a few flyers on some scrap heap guys. What could it hurt?
It’s Joe Torre’s birthday today.
I’m over him.
Oki-san needs to pitch a good game today. His last two starts have been disappointing.
Ganbare (Go for it), Oki-san!
lol…..glad that you’re your own translator.
I watch a lot of anime, so I know some Japanese. Not fluent in it though.
HiroKi is 3-0, with a 0.00 ERA in day games.
If you pitch in a dome, is it a day or night game?
The Captain doubles.
The Blue Jays could save themselves a lot of sweat if they just packed up and left now. This game is in the bag.
You paid Tex to hit that so you’d look good.
He wouldn’t take any money for it. He did it for the glory of YankeeAnalysts.com.
I’m hoping the yanks are patient and get Romero’s pitch count up fast.
Will you settle for getting his earned runs up fast?
I’m feeling greedy on sweep day, go for both!
1-0 Yankees after a Swisher single.
He did a good job going with the pitch.
Yup
Tex message! 3-0 Yankees.
Man United about to kick off soon, and Yankees up 3-0, that makes this hot day feel a little cooler.
Cano with the double
Over/under on final length of Cano’s hitting streak?
Hmmmmm. The trip out to Oakland scares me, so I’ll 21 is it.
I think it ends in Oakland too.
Then I’ll go with 32, just to be contrarian.
OK Professor Contra
Make that 4-0 Yankees.
They hit likes pros and run the bases like amateurs.
Better than vice versa.
Oki-san looking good.
Carl Crawford could be taking his talents to South Beach. In exchange, the Red Sox get Heath Bell and Hanley Ramirez.
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/baseball/story/2012-07-18/carl-crawford-hanley-ramirez-trade/56309810/1
No way that deal happens. No. Way. Why would anyone give up on Hanley for a guy who has openly admitted to needing Tommy John surgery. Thats pure rumor mongering
What!! That would be an absolute steal for the Sox, unless Bell’s downside outweighed Hanley’s upside.
Olney is shooting it down. From MLBTR: 1:10pm: There’s no current discussion involving Crawford, Ramirez and Bell, ESPN.com’s Buster Olney reports (on Twitter). The idea surfaced briefly as a concept and immediately died.
I wouldnt be surprised but I would definitely be pissed. I still get angry when I think about what the DBacks asked from the Yankees for Schilling and what they accepted from the Red Sox. Its laughable
Ack! Can’t stand Schilling, then again, what sane Yankees fan can stand him?
So Michael is right, that trade is just a rumor out of the wazoo.
I love when the Yankees play a lefty that isnt David Price.
That’s gotta hurt!
Ohhh no! I really like seeing Lawrie play im a huge fan of his. Thats concrete down there. Hope hes not hurt too bad. Maybe just pulled out for this game. Best of luck to him.
Amazing. The Jays are cursed worse than the Red Sox.
I dont like it when players on teams other than the Red Sox, Dodgers, and Cubs get hurt. Actually if the Yankees didnt play in the East id say every team in that division has several cool players. Its a shame to have a season derailed because of injury.
On a positive note I love right handed Tex. Its a world of difference when he switches his stance
Yeah, I can’ root for injuries. It’s too mean.
What are Teixeira’s numbers from the right side?
.779 OPS lefty vs .923 righty
That’s a big difference.
For a guy who makes his money being a power hitter and defensive wiz its huge. The defense will always be there but that kind of difference is like 2 different players.
.267/.331/.592
batting L: ..241/.343/.436
You were right, the Jays would have been better off to just forfeit the game. (Meaning Professor Contra)
The injury bug is going to be obese from feasting on the Blue Jays.
Yanks don’t score in the middle innings. They got their early runs. Now we have to wait until the 7th for the icing.
Hit, nap, hit
They woke up.
5-0 Yankees after a Wise Double
Someone forgot to tell Wise it’s against Yankee policy to score runs in the middle innings.
Haha right? “Thats not what we do around here”
How about Wise huh? Pretty useful backup to have. Plays all 3 OF positions very well, can steal, and is hitting better than he ever has in his life.
Playing WAY better than expected.
Redemption time for Swish!
Swish knows better than to drive in runs in the middle innings. His redemption will come in the 7th or 8th.
I say something nice about Wise and he misplays the ball. I cheer on Swish and he comes up short. Feel like Mush from A Bronx Tale
No good deed goes unpunished.
Just for comparison, Mantle’s splits
LHB: .281/.419/.546
RHB: .330/.424/.575
Interesting. I guess I always assumed the stadium helped him as a lefty hitter, but evidently he was just that much better right-handed.
I remember hitting better for average RH, but thought he had more power fro the left side. So I was also surprised seeing that.
Wish I got to see him play.
I think he’s still got the fattest time for a lefty home to first.
Jeez. Guys just awesome. Amazing how many historically great players the Yankees have had. Richest history in any sport.
3 of the top ten all time leaders in slg % are Yankees. Ruth (#1), Gehrig (#3) and DiMaggio (#10)
I dont care what anyone says. Babe Ruth is the greatest baseball player of all time. No one will ever dominate the sport the way he did. Hes like if you had Randy Johnson and turned him into into Barry Bonds on roids. Ace pitcher his first few years, best power hitter of all time after that. If he wasnt so busy being one of the best pitchers in the league to begin his career he would still own the home run record
And people forget what the dimensions of Yankee Stadium were like when Ruth played.
I sure did. When did they move the fences in?
Also…Yogi is the best catcher of all time. Looked up his stats on baseballreference.com. Just wow
Look at Bill Dickey’s, the original no. 8
Berra’s slightly better, but some consider Dickey the best.
I agree. I understand the argument that the old timers weren’t as big and strong as players today, but the way I like to judge players is by their domination at the time they played.
They say oh if he played today the new players wouldve gassed it right by him. Really? If he had all the training of todays players, rode on airplanes instead of trains, air conditioning, body conditioning all that whose to say he wouldnt have? Bonds did it on HGH, Aaron on amphetamines (if you dont think either help your in denial), Ruth did it on beer, steak and women
I agree with that, too. If you’re trying to pick an argument, you’re failing.
Mantle isnt on that? I always heard that his peak years he was the best CF ever.
Before his knees went, between him & Mays. His later years dragged down his stats, now 21st on slg % list.
Mantle said he really regrets that his lifetime average fell below .300. He wanted people to remember him as a .300 hitter.
Note to Yankee hitters: It is the 6th inning and now permissible to score runs again.
They got your memo.
Nah Prof not trying to start any arguments over it. Just crazy how some people like to dismiss the old time players because they didnt play in todays game.
Yeah, it’s just as silly as when old timers used to say that today’s ballplayers couldn’t shine Ty Cobb’s shoes. Not that they were right or wrong, just that it’s easy to turn off your mind and recite talking points.
One thing you said that can’t be argued, no one has ever dominated the game like Ruth.
Or will. He hit more home runs single handily than some teams did in his day. Guy was nuts!
And that was without being one-dimensional. He hit .340 and had record setting OBPs and SLGs.
I think it’s ridiculous talking about teams 2 games over .500 as being wild card contenders. I hate that 2nd WC team.
I can see the pros and cons of both sides. We as Yankee fans dislike it but the Orioles and Angels fans probably love it. Im still not sure how I feel to be honest
To see history of YS dimensions:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yankee_Stadium_%281923%29#Outfield_dimensions
Since Ruth last played for NYY in 1934, all his home games were with the original dimensions.
The short porch has been pretty consistent. But those original Left-to-right-center dimensions are amazing.
Monument Park used to be in the playing field.
There’s a picture in Peter Golenbock’s Dynasty of Mickey Mantle making a throw from next to a monument.
Thanks Phil!
May as well call it umps, the rain won’t stop.
YANKEES WIN!
Glad they called the game, long flight coming up.
Arite guys see you tomorrow. Safe travels Phil
Chat y’all soon. I won’t be on much during the late games on the coast.
