June 20 Game Thread
Sorry for the lateness of the thread, we had some miscommunications. The Yankees look to start another winning streak in a rare weekday day game against the Braves. Feel free to discuss the game, the ungodly heat, and anything else that strikes your fancy. Let’s go Yankees!

Most poker sites open to US players also provide online casinos accepting USA players. A good example of this is BetOnline.com, where you can play 3D casino games, bet on sports or play poker from anywhere in the United States.

Its cool no worries. Love how they say “only 1 right handed batter has hit a homer off Hanson.” Jeter first pitch…bang! hahaha
Not so hot where I live. Southern LI weather keepin me cool. Feels like Cano is disappointing me this year. Balance seems a bit off. Come on Cano your supposed to be an MVP candidate
I’m in Houston. We’re expecting to hit 100 this weekend.
A Rod & Cano looked bad, I mean BAD!! Hope they make adjustments.
Umps should be required to ask for help on checked swings whenever a catcher or batter wants it.
Better 2nd inning by Hughes.
The hell are you doing in Houston this time of year
Unfortunately I live here.
Braves are just a pitching factory
They used to say that was because of Leo Mazzone.
I remember him more with his failed stint with the Orioles but I know he made his reputation in Atlanta. Or rather he had 3 amazing pitchers. Im sure he helped but come on. Those 3 would’ve been good no matter who coached em
He had a lot more than the big 3. But none of the others were as successful for as long.
Yeah. There would be guys who were mediocre before they got to the Braves, then they’d have a great year or two and sign a free agent contract somewhere else and stink.
Hughes is frustrating
Currently a balmy 93 in our nation’s capital, and supposed to go up to 96. Tomorrow’s supposed to be even hotter. Oh joy.
As for Hughes, it is frustrating to see him pitch like this after looking so much better of late. Is there a more-scrutinized pitcher on the Yankee staff? I feel like nobody else gets the same level of start-to-start microanalysis that we subject Hughes to.
Probably not but thats because expectations were so high for him. I think he still has plenty of supporters but I have 0 faith in him. Even when he was going good im just always thinking I wonder when hes going to blow up.
I don’t have the same view of Nova bc he was supposed to be a 4 or 5 pitcher at best who is slowly making himself out to be more. Hughes was the best pitching prospect on the planet for a bit and has disappointed. hard the get that stench out of my nose.
Maybe not, but no else has gotten as many chances to stick in the rotation, either.
And there is a beautiful breeze here in southern LI. Don’t even need an air conditioner yet.
*sigh* I really hate Hughes. Back to being the old Hughesless that I have come to know the past few years. He wouldn’t happen to have any trade value would he?
I just read that Col. will go with a 4 man rotation and limit starters to 75 pitches. But can you imagine Hughes pitching there?
They should have traded him yesterday.
Cano seems to be a model of the game of baseball. Sometimes he can hit everything and then he has ABs like to today when it appears he could possibly swing at a pick off move.
Maybe Hughes can pitch to Cano at the HR Derby.
All right, you jerks, it’s time to start hitting. And I don’t mean get a couple walks and then hit a DP. I mean some serious hitting.
NOW!!
Just 4 more solo HRs to tie it.
How many warning-track flies and DPs will it take?
There’s 1.
There’s 2.
Did you know something?
I’m physic.
Maybe that psychotic.
Now down to 3 HRs needed. That’s 3 off Hunter, somethings going on at the stadium…….now Cano……Same # off Hunter as Hughes. I can’t be too hard on Hughes.
Come on, Swish, get on.
All right, really need to get at least another run now.
Good eye, good eye.
Good eye, bad bat.
Ibanez hit a bunch of clutch HRs early on, but he’s been crappy overall.
VERY streaky hitter. But I’m surprised Girardi didn’t send up Jones.
His OPS+ is only 102, and that’s as a DH with the platoon advantage 6 of 7 PAs.
His BABIP is very low, though.
He’s been struggling of late. I wonder if all the time he has spent in the outfield has been wearing him down.
Could be.
Also, it seems he’s had several at bats lately against lefties for some reason.
Glad to see Durbin. They can hit him.
You were right.
Again.
All right, that runner has to score.
Dammit, these runners are getting in the way of the solo home runs.
Damn, only one run. Solo HRs and 1 run RBIs. Common guys, do better in the bottom of the 8th.
I want the stats on Rodriguez getting runners home from third with less than 2 out.
Gotta go. Chat ya’ll Fri or Sat.
