Idle Boston and Tampa Bay will gain a half-game on the Yankees tonight.

Nunez has shown us what he is: a chickenshit bitch who can’t handle the pressure. Send him down, call up Laird, and trade for Omar Vizquel ASAP. At least Vizquel can make routine plays unlike Penunez/Punez (Nunez + Pena.)

Nova in place of Colon 7/19 at Tampa Bay, Colon to the pen.

‘Better make some deals, Cashman! Time to cash in some of those chips you’ve been collecting.

Anyone tells me the Yankees shouldn’t trade their farm kids, shut up. I don’t give a fuck about 2013 or 2014, it’s 2011. The Yankees haven’t had a starting pitcher after Pettitte anywhere close to being as productive for them as Pettitte, so I doubt they’ll lose the next Pedro or whoever. If Verlander or Hernandez were available this year, I’d not only trade all three Killer Bs for them, I’d throw in Jesus “I Can’t Catch” Montero and Nunez, and let’s see any three or four of them or all five amount to shit with Detroit or Seattle.

Very quick to give up on the guy who has been their second best starter, after two bad starts. Unless he’s hurt, he belongs in rotation.

He didn’t look healthy on those infield singles. Maybe he’s not 100%.

The Grandy Man can!!! 2011 Yankees MVMuthafuckin’P and a definite contender for the ALMVP.9-4 Toronto. Hmmmmm…Too bad that bitchass motherfucker Nunez will probably give up another run with his shitass defense.

I still think the Yankees will lose tonight as 9 runs is alot to overcome and should we expect the offense to score 10 or more and the pitching to hold Toronto at 9? Colon and Nunez fucked them tonight.

GO YANKS! (Save you Nunez. Minimum grand-slam from you since you cost the Yankees five runs.)

Can you please respect this blog enough not to curse. I’m sure most of us who come here are adults, but you have to assume at least a few kids do like to read about the Yankees. Besides that fact, it’s simply rude to the people who run the blog, and shows a complete lack of respect for the individuals who have given us a place to discuss the team. This may be the internet, but it doesn’t have to be treated like a bar.

The game sure looks different in the 6th inning than it did in the first.

Two things are clearly obvious from this game- Colon is hurt (either he re-injured the hammy tonight or he never fully recovered from the original injury (my guess). They should just DL him and bring up Nova. Second, Mitre needs to go.

It’s not much to go off of but he said all he needed to confirm your suspicions after the game.

“I feel good, but sometime I feel a little bit nervous”, Colon said through an interpreter. “I’m afraid to push.”

The Yankees are going to have to evaluate this one carefully. a rotation of Sabathia, Burnett, Garcia, Hughes, and Nova is probably not one you can rely on for very long. This may force the Yankees onto the trade market, and push them into pursuing Liriano or Jimenez.

From this point onward I don’t see how you can count on Colon one way or the other. If Hughes can’t become closer to what he was in the first half of last year, or Garcia falters, we could be in some real trouble here.

Nova did start tonight in Scranton, so he is on schedule to take Colon’s next turn in the rotation if necessary. He went 7.0 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 1 HR. J.C. Romero (who was signed today) relieved him and pitched 1 IP, he allowed 1 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, and 2 K’s.

I’m not sure if anyone cares but Banuelos and Betances both pitched in their double A All-Star game this weekend, and both performed very well from all reports.

Here is a snip it of an article on how both performed.
    http://www.trentonian.com/articles/2011/07/15/sports/doc4e1f79cfabf9c661754788.txt

Banuelos entered the proceedings and blew away the competition in rather impressive and efficient fashion.

He struck out all three men he faced Bowie’s Xavier Avery, Altoona’s Starling Marte and Akron’s Juan Diaz on just 13 pitches, all but two of which were strikes. He threw almost exclusively fastballs and topped out at 94 miles per hour, according to one scout’s gun.

Betances, who has struggled with efficiency problems all year, got into the game in the fifth and quickly put his struggles in the rear-view. He cut through the Western Division in just seven pitches, including a strikeout of Bowie catcher Caleb Joseph.

He also got a popout from Roger Kieschnick and finished a stress-free frame on Avery’s fly ball to the left-field warning track.
