Game 72-Get the Reds out
The Yanks can make like Visine tonight and polish off the Reds with a 3 game sweep. But first, there’s a boatload of news I have to get out of the way, so I’ll do it bullet point style:
- that the baseball people in FLA want to deal Hanley Ramirez, but owner Jeffery Loria doesn’t want to. Stay tuned.
-Another note
Freddy Garcia seven innings, no earned runs; Yankees have racked up 157.1 IP from Garcia/Colon, with a combined ERA of about 3.20. Amazing.
-Bryan Hoch that Jeffrey Marquez has been sent to the DL with a sore shoulder, and righty Buddy Carlyle has been called up to take his place.
-Donnie Collins reported that David Phelps went on the DL with a shoulder injury. Awaiting the results of an MRI.
-In this afternoon’s game, Jorge Posada hit his first HR since April 23rd.
Now that you’re caught up on all things Yankee, here’s your lineup for tonight’s game. As usual, courtesy of Chad Jennings over at LoHud:
Brett Gardner LF
Curtis Granderson CF
Mark Teixeira 1B
Alex Rodriguez 3B
Nick Swisher RF
Russell Martin C
Eduardo Nunez SS
Ramiro Pena 2B
Brian Gordon goes for the Yanks, Johnny Cueto toes the rubber for the Reds.
GO YANKS!!!

Most poker sites open to US players also provide online casinos accepting USA players. A good example of this is BetOnline.com, where you can play 3D casino games, bet on sports or play poker from anywhere in the United States.

Note to Ramiro Pena: Do NOT throw the ball, run to the base!
What’s the record for errors in a doubleheader by an infielder?
Pretty sure Buddy is a righty isn’t he?
Correct, It’s been fixed.
Another lefty HR for Swisher.
They’re playing with superballs this evening. We should see several more dingers.
The Yanks aren’t hitting. They’re not getting Cueto to throw a lot of pitches, either.
seems like the umpire is, anyway.
maybe they see the ball is carrying, and wanna wackit. This inning, it sure is all swings.
They’ll probably have to run into a couple to get any runs on the board.
Cueto is averaging about 13 pitches an inning, and he’s movng it around really well. Tex kept him hanging at 2-2, but every swing was off balance.
Boone got both Votto and Bruce! Good loogy duty!
Alex wasn’t greedy, and got te second hit of the night.
Well, I always figure if they can get the tying run to the plate, at least there will be one at bat that’s interesting. And with that walk, the tying run comes to the plate, inthe form of Russell Martin.
may he rise to the occasion, and give us something interesting.
But no, then there is … Cano!
I’ll take that error. A single gets them back in the game.
Cueto used tight cutters on the hands to diffuse the lefties.
Nice damned job. Shucks.
Yeah. He pitched a good game.
Paulie’s pitching color has been vivid. He’s making some great points.
Well if the Yankees don’t make an unreal comeback 2 out of 3 against Cincy is pretty good.
yeah, but you’ll have to admit that it would have been nice to stick it to Boston. All that streaking, and lose one series…
On the other hand, maybe it’s better to let them coast in comfort.
Yeah, winning series is the name of the game right now where the Yankees and Red Sox appear to be the only elite AL teams
Masset drops some heavy hammers. Another good looking pitcher. And we were so looking for a cakewalk.
Hey, Steve flip your counter an extra click: this was game 73!
Can the Yankees PLEASE send Cervelli back to AAA where he belongs and call up Montero or Molina if the Yankees don’t feel Montero is ready yet? Cervelli is a bench player who can’t field or hit. He sucks.
Pete Rose should be in the Hall Of Fame. He fucked up badly once and 22 years of banning him from baseball is more than enough punishment. He bet on baseball games because he was and perhaps still is a gambling addict.
I don’t wanna hear “He gambled on games” when I see casino billboard after casino billboard at every ballpark. Didn’t Hall Of Famer Denny McClain go to prison for selling coke? His HOF membership wasn’t revoked, and last I checked, people have been killed over coke. While Keith Hernandez isn’t in the HOF and never will be in it, he was a cokehead who used to preach to kids not to do drugs in between doing lines. You telling me he didn’t buy shit from someone who killed someone or was tied to someone who did? Get with reality – coke is a blood money trade. Where is Keith now? A securely employed gamecaller for the New York Mets.
agree on all points..cervelli out..rose in..4200 hits..promoting gambling is o.k. as long as they give large dollars..if it was not for gamblers betting sports and casino games , there would be no adds..so selig says put up the signs give up the dollars and players, don’t get caught betting it is evil..you will be punished for life..also don’t drink .. what a joke. rose was great for the game, a guy who played extra hard every play..no roids..
