American depository receipts of Asian stocks were trading 0.78% higher at 145.92 on the Bank of New York Mellon Asia ADR Index on Thursday.
In North Asia, the gainers were led by internet service provider Internet Initiative Japan (IIJI), and AU Optronics (AUO), which makes thin-film-transistor liquid-crystal display panels, which rose 4.9% and 3.9% respectively. They were followed by telecommunication services provider Chunghwa Telecom (CHT), and mobile applications developer LINE Corp. (LN), which were up 3% each.
The decliners in North Asia were led by handset solution provider China Techfaith Wireless Communication (CNTF), and media company Phoenix New Media (FENG), which fell 2.5% and 2.1% respectively. They were followed by Kingtone Wirelessinfo Solution (KONE), a provider of mobile enterprise solutions, and semiconductor company Semiconductor Manufacturing International (SMI), which dropped 1.8% and 1.6% respectively.
