Boeing Company Plans to Sell 28 F-18 Warplanes to Kuwait

Boeing Company reportedly is set to sell 28 F-18 Super Hornets to Kuwait, according to a Reuters report citing a military official.

The country’s purchase comes less than two weeks after the U.S. State Department reportedly notified Congress of a sale of 40 warplanes to Kuwait. The report said the country plans to return several older F-18s as a part of the deal.

Major General Lafi al-Azmi, chief of the military’s Armament and Procurement Authority, was cited as saying in an interview with the Kuwait News Agency that the country was in need of effective military equipment because of its close location to “turbulent locations.” Shares for Boeing were last trading down 0.1% late in the trading day Monday.
