Asian ADRs Move Lower in Tuesday Trading


American depository receipts of Asian stocks were trading 0.52% lower at 146.81 on the Bank of New York Mellon Asia ADR Index on Tuesday.

In North Asia, gainers were led by telecommunications company China Unicom (CHU), which rose 2%, followed by hotel operator China Lodging (HTHT), and Chinese search engine Baidu (BIDU), which gained 0.7% and 0.1% respectively.

Decliners in North Asia were led by mobile social media platform Weibo Corporation (WB), and aluminum producer Aluminum Corporation of China (ACH), which shed 4.3% and 4.1% each. They were followed by thin-film-transistor liquid-crystal display maker AU Optronics (AUO), which lost 3.6%, and power producer Huaneng Power International (HNP), which dropped 2.9%.

In South Asia, the only gainer was direct-to-home video provider Videocon d2h (VDTH), which edged 0.11% higher.

HDFC Bank (HDB) and ICICI Bank (IBN) led the decliners in South Asia falling 0.8% each. They were followed by Indian pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories (RDY), and IT services firm Infosys (INFY), which lost 0.5% and 0.3% respectively.
